Description
Views of Lubumbashi, formerly Elisabethville, the second largest city in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, located in the most south-eastern part of the country, along the border with Zambia.

The film opens with footage of a parade held in honor of Moïse Kapenda Tshombe. Moïse Kapenda Tshombe served as president of the secessionist state of Katanga from 1960 to 1963 and as prime minister of the Democratic Republic of the Congo from 1964 to 1965. We see soldiers in formation, a crowd observing the event and the amusement park entrance in the background. Cars of that era come to a halt and the officials step out as the lens focuses on a building bearing the inscription “COPHACO".

The parade continues with schools as well as cars accompanied by motorcycles and then we see a car stopping for Moïse Kapenda Tshombe to get out. The fillmmaker shows us the assembled crowd and views of the parade with the band standing by the roadside, groups of soldiers and horsemen marching. Airplane show follows, then we watch more military vehicles and some military and school groups, while the band continues to play.

The film closes with Moïse Tshombe's car as he greets the crowd, followed by his motorcade.
