Description
Syros is an island in the Cyclades, in the Aegean Sea, in Greece.

The Neorion of Syros is the shipyard of Syros and has been operating since 1861 on the island, having gone through successive phases of prosperity and decline.

The filmmaker from a tourist boat gives us shots of the land and sea facilities as well as machinery, stations and units, the necessary equipment for boat construction and repairs.

We see ships that are mounted on dry docks in the process of repair, others on hold, concrete platforms and dozens of cranes.

To the right is the settlement of Ermoupolis, the capital of Syros and in the background the small mountain Pyrgos is visible. We see shots from the port and the buildings, in the background the two hills on which the city is located amphitheatrically, with San George, Roman Catholic Diocese of the island in Ano Syros and the Church of the Resurrection of the Savior, respectively on Dili hill. We see a panoramic shot of the city and the port as well as the emblematic Customs of Syros at the northern pier of the port.

General panoramic shots of Ermoupolis. We see the church of Saint Nikolaos, the island’s patron saint, with the blue dome and the two bell towers as well as the hill of Ano Syros.

A panoramic view of the port, we can see the bell tower of the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin.

We see shots at the port, boats that are moored, a quiet traffic by cars and passers-by, parts of the wonderful city.
