Description
The film starts with a view of the bronze statue of the great Venetian playwright Carlo Goldoni, which is surrounded by a low wrought iron fence and is located in the small square of San Bartolomeo, a short distance from the huge St Mark's Square (aka Piazza San Marco).

We see many tourists in the big square, buildings, architectural masterpieces, a small passage from the St Mark's Clocktower (Torre dell'Orologio) and again the marble decorated facade of the cathedral, its arches, the turrets, the peristyle.

The square is full of tourists who shop. Among them the filmmaker's wife.

Footage from the Gothic architecture, Doge's Palace (Palazzo Ducale), next to it the Bridge of Sighs (Ponte dei Sospiri), the canal with the gondolas, a general shot of the Palace, the St Mark's bell tower, 98 meters high, the St. Mark’s dome, the Rialto Bridge.
